our inalienable stillness

naturally and ease fully

without effort or non effort

life blooms and wilts

simultaneously

we cannot lose it

or find it

for we are this

we may feel we are lost and found in the depths of darkness

spinning in a ballet of foreign and familiar shadows

formed by light

we dance and swing through a waterfall of words

I say the word ‘wet’

but is it wetness?

I drink life

but life has swallowed me

I am a drunken dream

basking in my own light

surfing a wave of poems

strange and familiar

this tree

tall

slim

reaching for sky

every leaf lanterned

unlike any other,

and oh!

the infinite greens

and blues

sapphires bleeding

into the fingering branches…

we all reach for beauty

we all long for love…

and that is our beauty

our love…

.

I can still taste the flavors of your voice

or is it your love

that hovers

softly

in my chest

location less

yet here

within

without

push and pull of my heartbeat

fills and empties me

this exquisite sadness

is it not also joy

that we have loved so deeply

and love this loving?

these tears cannot stain my cheeks

they form my eyes

in laughter

and sorrow

my heart explodes

through cascades of longing

that seems to form my lines

and forever separate me from you

is a dream horizon…

wings sail right through it

sea reveals sky

sky reflects sea

and they dance

like us

without time

or timelessness

embraced from within and without by our inalienable stillness
